Childbirth preparation

In my classes, I help you feel ready for your baby’s birth and the first moments together. I walk you through how labor unfolds, teach calming breathing and relaxation exercises, and share supportive tips for the days after delivery. I’m always happy to answer your questions so you feel secure and empowered during this special time.

The first hour is covered by basic health insurance, and any additional hour is 100 CHF.

Breastfeeding consultation

Breastfeeding is an important part of the early days with your baby, but it sometimes takes a little patience. I’m here to guide you through questions and uncertainties, help you with latching and comfortable feeding positions, and make sure your breasts and nipples stay healthy. Together, we’ll find ways to make breastfeeding relaxed and enjoyable for you and your baby.

Price

The first three breastfeeding consultations are covered by basic health insurance. Additional consultations are billed according to the time and support provided.

Postnatal care

During the first eight weeks after birth, I visit you at home and provide individual support. I help you with recovery and postnatal healing, care for birth injuries, breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, newborn care, first baths, and gentle tummy massages. I also monitor your baby’s health and development and am always here to answer any questions you may have.

Basic health insurance covers 10-16 visits, depending on the birth and number of children. Any additional visits are billed based on the time and support required.

TCB – Jaundice

Transcutaneous bilirubin measurement (TCB) is a soft, pain-free way to check your baby’s bilirubin levels through the skin completely without taking blood. This allows early detection of neonatal jaundice, which appears as a yellow tint of the skin and eyes and is caused by higher bilirubin levels in the blood. In most cases, it is harmless and easily treatable, but monitoring during the first days of life is important to ensure the baby's well-being.

Low-Level Laser Therapy

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a gentle, non-invasive method that can be used in various ways after childbirth. It helps breastfeeding mothers with nipple pain, cracks, or mastitis by relieving pain, reducing inflammation, and promoting healing. It is also beneficial for hemorrhoids, as it reduces swelling, improves circulation, and supports tissue regeneration. After a cesarean section, LLLT can accelerate wound healing, minimize scar formation, reduce pain, and lower the risk of infection.

Postnatal Taping

Taping during the postnatal period is a soft, natural method to support your body’s recovery after birth. Elastic tapes help promote healing, ease muscle tension, and reduce pain. They relieve pressure on the abdomen and back, stabilize the pelvic floor, and can aid in diastasis recti recovery. For cesarean scars, taping supports healing, improves blood flow, and reduces tension. It helps the body’s natural regeneration without any medication.

How can I tell if my baby is getting enough milk?

A good sign is when your baby has regular, full diapers, seems content and relaxed after feeding, and steadily gains weight. During the first days, I also check in with you to ensure that breastfeeding is going smoothly and your baby is developing healthily, so you can feel confident and fully supported.

What can I expect during the first week after childbirth?

The first week after birth often feels like a little whirlwind. Your body is starting to recover, your emotions may swing between joy, exhaustion, and new challenges, and breastfeeding and cuddle time shape your daily routine. Remember: you don’t have to manage everything on your own. Your well-being is just as important as your baby’s and seeking support is a loving step for both you and your family.

How should I care for my baby’s umbilical cord stump?

Keep the umbilical cord stump clean and dry. It usually falls off on its own within 1-2 weeks. During this time, avoid submerging it in water until it has completely detached and healed. If it becomes red, develops an unpleasant smell, or shows any signs of infection, please contact me right away. This ensures you can stay on the safe side and focus on enjoying your baby with peace of mind.
